Sooner or later- maybe this year at the Olympic
Games- China is going to surpass the United States
with gold medals! It is not that the USA has lost
its zest for gold. It is simply mathematics- one
fourth of the world’s population- and an insatiable
passion to top the United States as the world’s
number one athletic powerhouse. Four years ago in
Athens, China shocked the world by finishing a
surprising second in gold medals, ahead of Russia
and just four behind the USA. This might be the year
